04.28.11 - Picnic in the park

Today was just one of those days. The kids were home with Angie all day and I was late getting home from work as I stopped off to get a quick haircut. I walked in to find an unhappy crew, a tired momma and no dinner. So we quickly loaded up and headed out to the park to have a picnic dinner. Those may or may not be chicken nuggets Maddie and Nate are eating. Like I said, it was one of those days. But, an hour in the park was great therapy. Did you know there's a new playground at Sedgwick County Park?

04.27.11 - Bootcamp

We're starting to practice tummy time with Tommy. Notice how he's lifting his feet AND his head. Angie says that looks like something they'd make you do in bootcamp (Fitness Bootcamp, that is) and that it's really hard to do. Tommy makes it look easy!

04.26.11 - That's a good big sister

Maddie was excited to see Tommy when she got home from daycare and wanted to hold him right away. That's always nice to see.

04.25.11 - Up in the sky

It's a bird. It's a plane. It's ... I don't know what it is, I can't see that far yet!

04.24.11 - Multiplyin' like rabbits

Two years ago, we had one baby and one bunny (click here) for Easter. Today, we have three babies and 12 bunnies. We're multiplyin' like rabbits around here!

Nate's been giving his brother a lot of kisses lately. He also likes to poke at his eyes, too!

04.19.11 - Striking resemblance

Maddie asked Tommy to hold Polly while she colored. He didn't seem to mind.

04.18.11 - Ice cream

Maddie and Nate occasionally get ice cream as an after dinner snack. Tommy gets pushed in his swing.

04.17.11 - Girl next door

The last time Kenleigh was featured on one of our blogs, she was laying a smooch on Nate (click here). Nate was having none of it today so she made up to Tommy instead. :) Unfortunately, she won't be the girl next door much longer as they've listed their house for sale. If you're looking for a good deal on a nice house with great neighbors, we know a place. ;)

04.16.11 - Aunt Tori

After dinner tonight, we went over to Nan and Pop's house to take a walk around their neighborhood lake. About the time we were getting ready to leave, Brent and Tori called to see if they could stop by. Since they hadn't yet met Tommy, we decided to stay awhile longer. We're glad we did! Tommy was a big hit (duh!) and Maddie and Nate played so well with Emerson and Keiton.

04.13.11 - Woulda Coulda Shoulda

Last year, when the Michaels store on West Kellogg was having a liquidation sale in anticipation of its move to NewMarket Square, I stopped in to browse photo frames. I came across a stack of these that were marked down 75%. I contemplated buying three, you know, "just in case" we had another one. "Surely that's not gonna happen," I thought, at least not right away, and so I only bought two. Tonight we updated the photos of Maddie and Nate. I should have bought a third frame.

04.12.11 - Snuggly Puppy

Maddie has Snuggly Bunny. Nate has Snuggly Monkey. Tommy has Snuggly Puppy! And when we gave it to him for the first time tonight, he grabbed it tightly and held it close to him. He and Snuggly Puppy are going to be great friends!

04.11.11 - Do I have a mark on my face?

It doesn't hurt here or here but right in here.

04.10.11 - Sleeping baby

Grandma Shepherd came over today to see Tommy. Fortunately she didn't break the No. 1 Rule: Never wake a sleeping baby!

04.09.11 - Evening walk

Gramma Karen and Grampy Keith came over for dinner tonight. After we ate, we played outside for awhile before going for a walk through the neighborhood.

04.08.11 - Campus visit

Tommy made his first visit to the medical school today where he met a ton of great people including our friend James. Now, it should be noted that the last time (click here) James was featured one of our blogs holding one of our children, he and his wife were expecting their first child but had not yet told anyone. We're now up 3-1. James, do you have any news you'd like to share?!! We think Corbin needs a brother or sister!

04.07.11 - Dinner date

Tommy joined us at the dinner table tonight for a scrumptious meal of pork chops and apples with green beans. Yes, that's his tongue hanging out!

04.06.11 - New kid in town

No fancy baseball portrait for this birth announcement. In fact, we've been joking that Tommy will be a basketball player what with his big hands and feet. Either way, he's the new kid in town and we like him!

Maybe he'll be left-eye dominant, too.

Tommy's got this loungin' around thing down pretty well.

04.03.11 - Big Sister

Maddie wanted to hold Tommy "on my yap" today so we let her. Tommy didn't mind but Maddie was only interested for about six seconds.

04.02.11 - Mommy's Little Hunk

Tommy is sacked out after watching Maddie and Nate play in the back yard. We can totally relate. Trying to keep up with Maddie and Nate wear us out, too!

On Tommy's first trip to Target today, we couldn't pass up this photo op while looking for a box of cereal. It could have read, "Maddie and Nate tested, mother approved."
